Every time Apple pushes out a huge iOS update, it follows a very typical pattern. Every two weeks, a new beta gets rolled out to developers. This Monday is the two-week mark for a possible launch of the fourth beta of iOS 7. Today, MacRumors is reportingthat some users are getting their official invites to iWork for iCloud, which means we may be seeing another beta launch for Apple’s mobile operating system on schedule.
At this year’s Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC), Apple announced that iWork for iCloud would launch alongside iOS 7 and Maverick. The feature lets users access their Pages, Numbers, and Keynote files from any web browser on any computer through iCloud.
As these new features roll out for users other than developers, it shows promise that Apple is on track for the next iteration of its iOS 7. If all is according to plan, Monday will be the big day.
The last iOS 7 beta launch was on July 8. The biggest change was to the font size. Beta testers complained about the difficulty of reading small print with the Helvetica Neue Light in early versions of iOS 7. By the third beta, Apple switched to Helvetica Neue instead.
Another major complaint that is heard around the water cooler is the “ugly” native app icons. Maybe the designers working on iOS 7 will have heard the public cry and will make some big changes to the look of the icons that we can’t get rid of on our iPad.
